This sample itinerary comes highly recommended and provides an illustration of what your private tour could look like, since your own custom made private tour can be personalised in consideration of your own needs and preferences.  Such as where your tour begins and ends, the total number of nights, the locations where you would like to overnight, the attractions that you would like to visit, and the amount of free time that you would like to enjoy at leisure.

Summary:

Day 1 Borghetto, near Lake Garda:

Flight arrival at the airport of your choice, we recommend either of Verona or Venice Marco Polo airport.

Personalised “meet & greet” in the airport arrivals hall.

Private transfer to your hotel in Borghetto.

Assistance with your hotel check in.

Guided orientation walk of the village, rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight in Borghetto.

Day 2 Verona:

Full day guided tour of Verona with a local specialist guide.

Featuring the highlights of Verona, and a local’s insight of some of the hidden gems and secrets of one of Italy’s most romantic cities.

Day 3 Lake Garda (southern and eastern shore) and Riva del Garda:

Full day guided tour of the southern and eastern shore of Lake Garda with a local specialist guide.

Featuring some fabulous lake views and sightseeing at the towns and villages of Peschiera, Sirmione, Bardolino, Malcesine and Riva del Garda.

Assistance with your hotel check in and a guided orientation walk around the town.

Overnight in Riva del Garda.

Day 4 Arco, The Valley of the Four Lakes, Trento and South Tyrol:

Full day guided tour through the region of Trentino, including Arco, The Valley of the Four Lakes and the City of Trento, with a local specialist guide, concluding in South Tyrol.

Featuring the quaint village of Arco, Lago di Cavedine, Lago di Toblino, Lago di Santa Massenza, Lago di Terlago and the historic City of Trento.

Overnight in Fie allo Sciliar, South Tyrol.

Day 5 South Tyrol, Seiser Alm, Castelrotto, and Prosels Castle:

Full day private tour of the local region including the Seiser Alm Gondola, Castelrotto and Prosels Castle.

Featuring an escorted ride up the mountain on the Seiser Alm cable gondola with plenty of time to take a leisurely stroll on the upper plateau and pastures, sightseeing and time for lunch in the pretty alpine village of Castelrotto, and a visit to Prosels Castle with more stunning panoramic views.

Overnight in Fie allo Sciliar, South Tyrol.

Day 6 Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden and Salzburg:

Full day private tour to Salzburg, including the Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden.

Featuring a scenic road trip from Italy to Austria, crossing the border again from Austria into Germany, to visit the infamous Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden. Includes the return bus ride up the mountain and plenty of free time to take a stroll, capture the spectacular mountain views and to enjoy a refreshment break. Crossing the border back into Austria, the tour concludes in nearby Salzburg.

Day 7 Salzburg:

Free day at leisure in Salzburg.

We recommend visits to the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the Mirabell Gardens, the Cathedral and “Getreidegasse”, one of the most attractive streets in the old town which also happens to be the location of Mozart’s birthplace.

Optional guided tours around the city can be arranged.

Overnight in Salzburg.

Day 8 Salzburgerland, Hallstatt, Lake Wolfgang and St Gilgen:

Full day private tour of Salzburgerland including Hallstatt, the Salt Mine and Skywalk above Lake Hallstatt, Lake Wolfgang and St Gilgen.

Featuring some breathtaking alpine scenery, the renowned Salt Mine museum and Skywalk experience at Hallstatt, and lots of photo opportunities along the way.

Overnight in Salzburg.

Day 9 Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, Heiligenblut and Lake Millstatt:

Full day private tour of the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse (high alpine road) and the village of Heiligenblut, concluding in Lake Millstatt.

Featuring some fabulous mountain scenery in the shadow of Austria’s highest mountain – the Grossglockner – and a guided walk around Heiligenblut which is reputed to be Austria’s prettiest village, with several photo and refreshment breaks along the way.

Overnight in Millstatt.

Day 10 Carinthia, Gmund, Lake Worthersee and the Pyramidenkogel:

Full day private tour of Carinthia including Gmund, Lake Worthersee and the Pyramidenkogel.

Featuring some delightful lakes and mountains views, the quaint and historic town of Gmund,  Lake Worthersee and the highest wooden viewing tower in the world – the Pyramidenkogel.

Optional visit to the Porsche Museum in Gmund.

Overnight in Millstatt.

Day 11 Venice:

Half day private transfer to Venice, concluding the journey in the centre of Venice at the Piazzale Roma.

A representative from your hotel in Venice can meet you at the Piazzale Roma to assist you with your luggage to the hotel.

Rest of the day at leisure, overnight in Venice.

Day 12 Venice:

Free time at leisure in Venice.

Private transfer to Venice Marco Polo airport, or you might prefer to extend your stay in Venice by one or two days.

 

Your transportation is by deluxe passenger van, offering exceptional travel comfort, with your own dedicated English speaking driver/guide.

You can enjoy all of the benefits of a private tour with us, for less than the price of “big bus” tours, but with all of the benefits of a private tour. Particularly where the fixed costs of your private transportation and guiding are shared between four or six persons.

We have developed our own “cherry picked” selection of preferred hotel partners, based on our personal experiences and client feedback, which we continuously monitor. At the time of making your enquiry we will check the current availability and room rates for our first choice hotel selections, and these details will be included with your custom made itinerary and quotation.

2) Your entrance fees at visitor attractions:

All of the entrance fees at the various visitor attractions or activities which are included in your itinerary are covered, unless these are stated as “optional”, in which case you will need to pay for these.

3) Local guides:

In addition to the general guidance and recommendations provided by Graeme, your personal driver and tour manager for your entire tour, you will enjoy the services of local city guides in various locations. Several of the guided tours provided by the visitor attractions listed above include local specialist guides.

4) Other services:

Orientation and guidance at each overnight location including local restaurant recommendations, assistance with your luggage between the vehicle and the hotel lobby, hotel check-in assistance, 24/7 emergency contact.
