Summary:

Day 1 Salzburg:

Flight arrival at the airport of your choice, we recommend either of Salzburg, Klagenfurt or Ljubljana airport.

Personalised “meet & greet” in the airport arrivals hall.

Guided orientation walk of the old town, rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 Salzburg:

Free day at leisure in Salzburg.

We recommend visits to the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the Mirabell Gardens, the Cathedral and “Getreidegasse”, one of the most attractive streets in the old town which also happens to be the location of Mozart’s birthplace.

Optional guided tours around the city can be arranged.

Overnight in Salzburg.

Day 3 Salzburgerland, Hallstatt, Lake Wolfgang and St Gilgen:

Full day private tour of Salzburgerland including Hallstatt, the Salt Mine and Skywalk above Lake Hallstatt, Lake Wolfgang and St Gilgen.

Featuring some breathtaking alpine scenery, the renowned Salt Mine museum and Skywalk experience at Hallstatt, and lots of photo opportunities along the way.

Overnight in Salzburg.

Day 4 Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden, Salzburg:

Half day private tour to the Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden.

Featuring a scenic road trip into Bavaria, crossing the border from Austria into Germany, and a visit to the infamous Eagle’s Nest including the return bus ride up the mountain and plenty of free time to take a stroll, capture the spectacular mountain views and to enjoy a refreshment break.

Day 5 Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, Heiligenblut and Lake Millstatt:

Full day private tour of the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse (high alpine road) and the village of Heiligenblut, concluding in Lake Millstatt.

Featuring some fabulous mountain scenery in the shadow of Austria’s highest mountain – the Grossglockner – and a guided walk around Heiligenblut which is reputed to be Austria’s prettiest village, with several photo and refreshment breaks along the way.

Overnight in Millstatt.

Day 6 Carinthia, Gmund, Lake Worthersee and the Pyramidenkogel:

Full day private tour of Carinthia including Gmund, Lake Worthersee and the Pyramidenkogel.

Featuring some delightful lakes and mountains views, the quaint and historic town of Gmund,  Lake Worthersee and the highest wooden viewing tower in the world – the Pyramidenkogel.

Optional visit to the Porsche Museum in Gmund.

Day 7 Lake Bled:

Private transfer to your hotel in Lake Bled, guided orientation road tour around Bled.

Assistance with your hotel check in.

Rest of the day at leisure. We recommend a stroll around the lake, a boat trip to the island or afternoon tea with cream cakes (kremna rezina) at a lakeside cafe.

Day 8 Lake Bled, Bled Castle, the Vintgar Gorge, Lake Bohinj and the Mt. Vogel Cable Car:

Full day private tour around the local region, including guided visits to Bled Castle, the Vintgar Gorge, a road tour through the Bohinj Valley to Lake Bohinj and a ride on the Mt. Vogel cable car.

Day 9 Julian Alps, Soca Valley and Goriska Brda:

Full day private tour to the Julian Alps, Soca Valley and Goriska Brda, the so called “Tuscany of Slovenia”.

Optional guided walk along the banks of the River Soca Valley to the Kozjak waterfall, optional visit to the First World War Museum in Kobarid, optional wine tasting in Goriska Brda.

Day 10 Piran, Postojna Caves, Predjama Castle and Ljubljana:

Day 11 Ptuj and the Jeruzalem wine hills:

Full day private tour to the lesser known north-eastern region of Stajerska, including Ptuj – Slovenia’s oldest town – and the wine hills of Jeruzalem.

Featuring the quaint old town of Ptuj and some wonderful scenery as we explore the back roads of the Jeruzalem wine hills.

Optional visit to Ptuj Castle, optional wine tasting in the Jeruzalem – Ormoz wine region.

Overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 12 Ljubljana:

Free time at leisure in Ljubljana.

Private transfer to the airport or an alternative drop-off location of your choice.

We have developed our own “cherry picked” selection of preferred hotel partners, based on our personal experiences and client feedback, which we continuously monitor. At the time of making your enquiry we will check the current availability and room rates for our first choice hotel selections, and these details will be included with your custom made itinerary and quotation.

2) Your entrance fees at visitor attractions:

All of the entrance fees at the various visitor attractions or activities which are included in your itinerary are covered, unless these are stated as “optional”, in which case you will need to pay for these.

3) Local guides:

In addition to the general guidance and recommendations provided by Graeme, your personal driver and tour manager for your entire tour, you will enjoy the services of local city guides in various locations. Several of the guided tours provided by the visitor attractions listed above include local specialist guides.

4) Other services:

Orientation and guidance at each overnight location including local restaurant recommendations, assistance with your luggage between the vehicle and the hotel lobby, hotel check-in assistance, 24/7 emergency contact.
