Slovenia & Italy – 11 nights


This sample itinerary merely provides an illustration of what your private tour could look like. Your custom made private tour will be personalised in consideration of you own needs and preferences. Such as where your tour begins and ends, the total number of nights, the locations where you would like to overnight, the attractions that you would like to visit, and the amount of free time that you would like to enjoy at leisure.  


Day 1 Flight arrival at Venice Marco Polo airport. Private transfer to your hotel accommodation near Venice Marco Polo airport where you overnight. If some members of your group are arriving on different flights, separate transfers will be arranged. In the event of a flight delay for your arrival into Venice, we can assure you that your driver will be waiting for you at the new expected time of arrival. Time permitting you can take the opportunity to visit nearby Venice which is easily accessible by public bus, train or private taxi, or you can enjoy a restful first day after your long journey.
Day 2 Venice to Piran, crossing the border from Italy to Slovenia. Orientation and time at leisure in the afternoon, overnight in Piran. Your tour manager and driver/guide (Graeme) will arrive at your hotel the evening before, ready to meet you this morning.
Day 3 Piran to Lake Bled, breaking the journey to visit the renowned Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle. Orientation and overnight in Lake Bled.
Day 4 Full day tour of the local region, including the Vintgar Gorge, Bled Castle, Lake Bohinj and the Mt.Vogel cable car. Overnight in Lake Bled.
Day 5 Lake Bled to Goriska Brda – the so called “Tuscany of Slovenia”. Following the direction of the Alpe-Adria trail by road through the Julian Alps and the Soca Valley. An optional wine tasting can be arranged in Goriska Brda, where we overnight.
Day 6 Goriska Brda to Borghetto, crossing the border from Slovenia into Italy and taking in the romantic city of Verona for a guided walking tour of the main sights.  Orientation and overnight at Borghetto, near Lake Garda.
Day 7 Full day tour of the Lake Garda region, including the attractive lakeside towns of Bardolino and Malcesine. Overnight at Borghetto.
Day 8 Borghetto to Fie allo Sciliar in the region of South Tyrol, breaking the journey at Trento for sightseeing and time for lunch, optional visit to Buonconsciglio Castle. Overnight at Fie allo Sciliar.
Day 9 Full day tour of the local South Tyrol region including the Seiser Alm cable car, the alpine village of Castelrotto and Prosels Castle. Overnight in Fie allo Sciliar.
Day 10 Fie allo Sciliar to Venice, concluding our tour at your accommodation located nearby to Venice and the airport. Overnight near Venice and the airport.
Day 11 Day at leisure in nearby Venice which is easily accessible by public bus, train or private taxi. Overnight near Venice and the airport.
Day 12 You make your own travel arrangements to Venice Marco Polo airport for your flight departure. Alternatively you can continue your adventure elsewhere in Italy.

Your transportation is by deluxe passenger van, offering exceptional travel comfort, with your own dedicated English speaking driver/guide.

You can enjoy all of the benefits of a private tour with us, for less than the price of “big bus” tours, but with all of the benefits of a private tour. Particularly where the fixed costs of your private transportation and guiding are shared between four or six persons.

1) Your hotel accommodation with breakfast:

We have developed our own “cherry picked” selection of preferred hotel partners, based on our personal experiences and client feedback, which we continuously monitor. At the time of making your enquiry we will check the current availability and room rates for our first choice hotel selections, and these details will be included with your custom made itinerary and quotation.

2) Your entrance fees at visitor attractions:

All of the entrance fees at the various visitor attractions or activities which are included in your itinerary are covered, unless these are stated as “optional”, in which case you will need to pay for these.

3) Local guides:

In addition to the general guidance and recommendations provided by Graeme, your personal driver and tour manager for your entire tour, you will enjoy the services of local city guides in various locations. Several of the guided tours provided by the visitor attractions listed above include local specialist guides.

4) Other services:

Orientation and guidance at each overnight location including local restaurant recommendations, assistance with your luggage between the vehicle and the hotel lobby, hotel check-in assistance, 24/7 emergency contact.
