Italy, Austria, Slovenia & Croatia – 14 nights

Summary:

Day 1 Flight arrival at Venice Marco Polo airport. Private transfer to your hotel accommodation near Venice Marco Polo airport where you overnight. If some members of your group are arriving on different flights, separate transfers will be arranged. In the event of a flight delay for your arrival into Venice, we can assure you that your driver will be waiting for you at the new expected time of arrival. Time permitting you can take the opportunity to visit nearby Venice which is easily accessible by public bus, train or private taxi, or you can enjoy a restful first day after your long journey.
Day 2 Venice to Borghetto, taking in the romantic city of Verona for a guided walking tour of the main sights.  Orientation and overnight at Borghetto, near Lake Garda. Your tour manager and driver/guide (Graeme) will arrive at your hotel the evening before, ready to meet you this morning.
Day 3 Full day tour of the Lake Garda region, including the attractive lakeside towns of Bardolino and Malcesine. Overnight at Borghetto.
Day 4 Borghetto to Fie allo Sciliar in the region of South Tyrol, breaking the journey at Trento for sightseeing and time for lunch, optional visit to Buonconsciglio Castle. Overnight at Fie allo Sciliar.
Day 5 Full day tour of the local South Tyrol region including the Seiser Alm cable car, the alpine village of Castelrotto and Prosels Castle. Overnight in Fie allo Sciliar.
Day 6 Fie allo Sciliar to Salzburg, crossing the border from Italy to Austria, orientation and the rest of the day at leisure, overnight in Salzburg.
Day 7 Full day tour of the Salzburgerland region including Hallstatt, the Salt Mine and the Skywalk at Lake Hallstatt, also taking in Lake Wolfgang and St.Gilgen. Overnight in Salzburg.
Day 8 Salzburg to Lake Millstatt, taking the scenic route through the mountains along the Hochalpenstrasse – the High Alpine Road – in the Grossglockner National Park. Overnight at Lake Millstatt.
Day 9 Lake Millstatt to Lake Bled, including Lake Worthersee and the Pyramidenkogel – “the highest wooden viewing tower in the world”. Orientation and overnight at Lake Bled.
Day 10 Full day tour of the local region, including the Vintgar Gorge, Bled Castle, Lake Bohinj and the Mt.Vogel cable car. Overnight in Lake Bled.
Day 11 Full day tour, making a visit to Slovenia’s capital city Ljubljana, and onwards to the renowned Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle. Overnight in Lake Bled.
Day 12 Lake Bled to Rovinj, crossing the border from Slovenia to Croatia for a tour of the Istrian hills and countryside, including Groznjan and Motovun. Overnight in Rovinj.
Day 13 Guided walking tour in Rovinj and the rest of the day at leisure, overnight in Rovinj.
Day 14 Rovinj to Venice, crossing the borders from Croatia to Slovenia, and Slovenia back to Italy, concluding our tour at your accommodation located nearby to Venice and the airport. After your hotel check-in, Graeme will be happy to drop you off in the centre of Venice before he returns home to Slovenia. Overnight near Venice and the airport.
Day 15 You make your own travel arrangements to Venice Marco Polo airport for your flight departure. Alternatively you can continue your adventure elsewhere in Italy.

2) Your entrance fees at visitor attractions:

All of the entrance fees at the various visitor attractions or activities which are included in your itinerary are covered, unless these are stated as “optional”, in which case you will need to pay for these.

3) Local guides:

In addition to the general guidance and recommendations provided by Graeme, your personal driver and tour manager for your entire tour, you will enjoy the services of local city guides in various locations. Several of the guided tours provided by the visitor attractions listed above include local specialist guides.

4) Other services:

Orientation and guidance at each overnight location including local restaurant recommendations, assistance with your luggage between the vehicle and the hotel lobby, hotel check-in assistance, 24/7 emergency contact.
